Key Findings
This study assesses the economic value premium for Kentlands, a traditional neighborhood development, compared to surrounding conventional subdivisions. Using data on 2,061 single-family home transactions and several hedonic price models, the study finds that consumers are willing to pay a premium (roughly 12%, or $25,000 average per home) to reside in a community with New Urbanist features.
